Morpheus8 Treatment in East Kilbride

Morpheus8 is one of the most talked-about treatments in medical aesthetics — and for good reason. It combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to remodel tissue at depth, producing genuine improvements in skin laxity, texture, and firmness that topical skincare cannot reach.

At Alchemy Clinic in East Kilbride, Morpheus8 treatments are delivered exclusively by medically qualified healthcare professionals in a Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) registered clinic. This matters — particularly as new Scottish legislation comes into force requiring non-surgical cosmetic procedures to be performed by qualified practitioners in regulated settings. We have invested in the device because the clinical evidence supports it — not because it is trending.

Consultations start from £30.

What Morpheus8 does

Morpheus8 works by delivering radiofrequency energy into the deeper layers of the skin and underlying tissue via a matrix of fine needles. This combination of controlled physical injury and thermal energy triggers the body’s natural repair response — producing new collagen and elastin and gradually remodelling the tissue from within.

The result, over a course of treatments and the weeks that follow, is skin that is noticeably firmer, smoother, and more evenly textured. The improvement is genuine rather than cosmetic: the device is working at depths that surface treatments cannot reach, which is why the results are more durable than many alternatives.

Morpheus8 is well suited to addressing:

  • Skin laxity — mild to moderate looseness around the jawline, cheeks, neck, and jowls.

  • Fine lines and wrinkles — particularly those driven by skin quality and loss of elasticity rather than muscle movement.

  • Skin texture — including enlarged pores, uneven surface texture, and the general roughness that comes with age or sun exposure.

  • Acne scarring — both rolling and boxcar scars respond well to the combination of needling depth and RF remodelling.

  • Neck and jawline definition — an area where Morpheus8 can make a meaningful difference without surgical intervention.

  • Stretch marks — particularly on the abdomen and thighs, where the treatment can soften their appearance over a course.

Morpheus8 is not a substitute for surgical lifting where significant tissue laxity is present, and it does not treat pigmentation directly. If your concern would be better addressed by a different treatment, we will tell you at consultation.

How it works

The Morpheus8 handpiece delivers a matrix of fine, gold-tipped needles into the skin at a precisely controlled depth. At the same time, radiofrequency energy is emitted from the needle tips into the deeper tissue layers.

The depth of needle penetration is adjusted depending on the area being treated — typically between 1mm and 4mm on the face, and deeper on the body where tissue thickness allows. The RF energy generates heat at depth, which:

  1. Stimulates fibroblast cells to produce new collagen and elastin.

  2. Contracts existing collagen, producing an immediate mild tightening effect.

  3. Remodels the subdermal tissue over the weeks that follow.

Because the needles are insulated along their length and deliver energy only at the tip, the surface of the skin is largely spared — which is why downtime is relatively short compared with more aggressive resurfacing treatments.

Areas we treat

Face and jawline

The mid-face, jowls, and jawline are among the most popular treatment areas. Morpheus8 can tighten the overlying skin and improve the definition of the jaw without the downtime or permanence of surgical intervention.

Neck

The neck is often undertreated. Morpheus8 addresses the crepiness, fine lines, and mild laxity that develop in this area and tend not to respond to skincare alone.

Under-eye area

With appropriate settings and a careful approach, Morpheus8 can improve the texture and laxity of the under-eye skin — an area that requires particular care and is treated conservatively at Alchemy.

Abdomen and body

On the body, deeper settings allow the treatment to address skin laxity and stretch marks on the abdomen, thighs, and arms. The approach differs from facial treatment and will be discussed specifically at consultation.

Your consultation

Every Morpheus8 treatment at Alchemy begins with a consultation, which costs £30. We do not offer the treatment on a walk-in basis. All treatments are performed by medically qualified healthcare professionals at our HIS registered clinic — providing the standards of safety and accountability that Scotland’s incoming cosmetic legislation is designed to ensure.

At your consultation, your clinician will:

  • Review your medical history, current medications, and any previous aesthetic treatments.

  • Discuss what is bothering you and what you are hoping to achieve.

  • Assess your skin quality, laxity, and the specific concerns you want to address.

  • Explain what Morpheus8 can realistically achieve for you — and what it cannot.

  • Recommend a treatment plan including the number of sessions, intervals, and any complementary treatments that would support the result.

  • Provide transparent pricing with no obligation to proceed on the day.

We will also discuss your skincare routine. Morpheus8 produces better results in skin that is well looked after between treatments, and we will recommend any changes that would support your outcome.

What to expect

Before treatment

We apply a topical numbing cream to the treatment area approximately 30 to 45 minutes before the procedure. This significantly reduces discomfort; most patients describe the sensation during treatment as pressure with intermittent warmth rather than pain, though individual sensitivity varies and deeper settings are more intense.

During treatment

A typical Morpheus8 session takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on the areas treated. The handpiece is passed systematically across the treatment zone, with your clinician adjusting depth and energy settings as required.

After treatment

Immediately after treatment, the skin will look red and feel warm — similar in appearance to a mild sunburn. Small pinpoint marks from the needles are visible for the first day or two. Most patients experience:

  • Redness and mild swelling for 24 to 72 hours.

  • A sandpaper-like texture to the skin surface for two to five days as the micro-channels heal.

  • Occasional small bruises, particularly in thinner-skinned areas.

  • Dryness and peeling in the days following, which should not be picked at.

Most patients are comfortable returning to normal activities within a few days, though we suggest avoiding heavy exercise, direct sun exposure, and active skincare ingredients (retinoids, acids) for at least one week.

Make-up can usually be worn after 24 to 48 hours, once the skin surface has begun to settle.

Results

Results develop gradually. You may notice an initial improvement in texture within two to three weeks as the acute healing phase completes. The more meaningful changes — firmer skin, improved laxity, smoother texture — continue to develop over two to three months as collagen remodelling progresses.

We take standardised photographs at each visit so that progress is measurable. Results are typically long-lasting, though not permanent — the ageing process continues, and maintenance treatments are appropriate for most patients from 12 to 18 months onwards.

Treatment plan

Most patients see the best results from two to three treatments spaced four to six weeks apart. A single treatment can produce a visible improvement but a course allows the remodelling process to build on itself.

The number of sessions and the interval between them will be recommended at consultation based on your concerns, your skin, and what you are hoping to achieve. We do not use a one-size-fits-all protocol.

Serving East Kilbride and the wider area

Alchemy Clinic is based in East Kilbride. As far as we are aware, we are currently the only clinic in East Kilbride offering Morpheus8 — which means patients across the area no longer need to travel into Glasgow city centre for access to the device. We regularly see patients from Hamilton, Rutherglen, Cambuslang, Bothwell, Uddingston, Newton Mearns, Giffnock, Clarkston, and across Glasgow South.

Frequently asked questions

Is Morpheus8 painful?

Topical numbing cream is applied before treatment, which significantly reduces discomfort. Most patients find it uncomfortable rather than painful — a sensation of pressure and warmth. Deeper settings on the body are more intense than facial treatment. Your clinician will talk you through what to expect for your specific plan.

How many treatments will I need?

Typically two to three, spaced four to six weeks apart. Some patients achieve their goal with a single session; others with a slightly longer course. This will be confirmed at consultation.

How long before I see results?

An initial improvement in skin texture is usually visible within two to three weeks. The more significant changes in firmness and laxity develop over the following two to three months as collagen remodelling progresses.

How long do results last?

Results are long-lasting but not permanent. Most patients find that the improvement holds well for 12 to 18 months, after which a maintenance treatment is a sensible option.

Is there much downtime?

Most patients are comfortable in public within two to five days. The skin will look red and feel rough for the first few days, and there may be some dryness and peeling. It is not a zero-downtime treatment, but it is manageable for most people around normal life.

Can Morpheus8 be combined with other treatments?

Yes, often. It combines well with skin boosters to support hydration and skin quality in the weeks following treatment, and with anti-wrinkle injections where muscle movement is also a concern. We will discuss any complementary options at consultation.

Who is not suitable for Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It is also not recommended for patients with active skin infections, certain autoimmune conditions, or a history of keloid scarring. Your full medical history will be reviewed at consultation to confirm suitability.

Is Alchemy a registered clinic with qualified practitioners?

Yes. Alchemy Clinic is registered with Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) and all treatments are carried out by medically qualified healthcare professionals. This is important to us — and increasingly important to patients. Scotland is introducing new legislation governing non-surgical cosmetic procedures, requiring treatments to be performed by qualified practitioners in regulated settings. Alchemy already meets and exceeds those standards. When you choose a clinic, we would always encourage you to verify registration and practitioner qualifications, wherever you are treated.

Is this available on the NHS?

No. Morpheus8 is a cosmetic treatment and is not available through the NHS.
