Diolaze is InMode's diode laser for reducing unwanted hair. The laser energy is drawn to the
pigment in the hair and turns to heat at the follicle, which disrupts the growth cycle and
weakens the follicle's ability to keep producing hair.
Hair grows in cycles, and that is why a course is needed. Not every hair is active at the same
time, and the laser works best on hair in its active growth phase, so repeated sessions catch
different follicles as they come through.
We plan around skin type, hair colour, density and area. Darker hair tends to respond best,
because there is more pigment for the laser to find. Very fair, white, grey or red hair often
will not respond well. Diolaze suits men and women and covers most areas of the face and
body. A consultation and patch test come first, so we can check suitability, set honest
expectations and reduce the risk of any reaction.

Your course and what to expect
Most people need a course for lasting reduction. The exact number depends on the area, the
hair and how you respond. Facial hair can need ongoing maintenance, since hormones can
drive it. It helps to be clear that this is hair reduction rather than a guarantee of permanent
removal. The aim is less hair, finer hair and slower regrowth, with the occasional top up over
time.
The area is shaved before treatment. Please avoid waxing, plucking and threading through
the course, because the follicle needs to be there for the laser to work. Sun and fake tan
should be avoided before and after.
After your treatment
The skin may be a little red or warm and usually settles quickly. Over the following days and
weeks treated hairs often look as though they are still growing, when they are really being
shed from the follicle. You will get full aftercare on the day, which usually means avoiding
heat, sun, active skincare and friction on the area for a short while.
