Anti-Wrinkle Treatments in East Kilbride

Fine lines and wrinkles develop gradually, usually in the areas we use most expressively. For many of our clients, it’s not about chasing a dramatic change but preserving the way they naturally look while softening the lines that feel more prominent than they’d like.

At Alchemy Clinic in East Kilbride, we provide medically-led anti-wrinkle treatments delivered by experienced clinicians. Every treatment begins with a thorough consultation, because the right approach depends entirely on your facial anatomy, muscle strength, skin quality, and what you’d like to achieve.

Consultations start from £30.

A medically-led approach

Anti-wrinkle injections are a prescription-only medicine in the UK, and in Scotland the delivery of aesthetic treatments is held to strict clinical and regulatory standards. We take that seriously.

Every patient at Alchemy Clinic is assessed by a qualified prescribing clinician before treatment is considered. Medication is only prescribed when it is clinically appropriate for you, and we will always explain the alternatives including when we think a different treatment, or no treatment at all, would be the better option.

Our practice is built around four principles:

  • Clinical safety — full medical assessment, medication review, and prescriber oversight for every treatment.

  • Natural-looking results — subtle softening rather than a frozen or overdone appearance.

  • Precision technique — careful anatomical assessment so the right muscles are targeted at the right dose.

  • Follow-up care — a complimentary review appointment to assess your result and make any adjustments.

Concerns we help with

Anti-wrinkle injections work by temporarily relaxing the muscles that create movement-related lines. They are most effective on dynamic wrinkles lines caused by repeated facial expression — rather than deep static lines caused by volume loss or skin quality, which often respond better to other approaches such as dermal fillers, biostimulators, or skin boosters.

Areas we regularly assess and treat include:

  • Frown lines (glabellar lines) — the vertical lines between the brows, sometimes called “elevens.”

  • Forehead lines — the horizontal lines that appear when raising the brows.

  • Crow’s feet — the lines that fan out from the outer corners of the eyes when smiling.

  • Bunny lines — the fine lines that form across the bridge of the nose.

  • Brow position — subtle lifting or rebalancing of the brow shape.

  • Gummy smile — softening of the upper lip elevator muscles for patients who feel the gum line shows too prominently when smiling.

  • Perioral lines — the fine vertical lines around the mouth.

  • Chin dimpling (peau d’orange) — the pebbled or orange-peel texture that can appear on the chin during speech.

  • Neck bands (platysmal bands) — the vertical bands that become more visible with age.

Whether any of these is suitable for you depends on your individual anatomy, and this is something we will assess in detail at your consultation.

Medical and functional treatments

Beyond softening lines, the medication we use has well-established medical and functional uses. We also offer consultation and treatment for:

  • Jaw clenching and bruxism — relaxation of the masseter muscle can reduce clenching, grinding, and jaw tension, and can gently slim the lower face in patients who would like a softer jawline.

  • Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) — particularly in the underarms, for patients who have not found adequate relief from topical treatments.

  • Tension around the jaw and temples — where masseter treatment may form part of a broader management plan.

These treatments require a full medical history review and a proper clinical discussion before any decision is made.

Your consultation

Because the medication involved is prescription-only, we do not treat on a walk-in basis. Every patient begins with a dedicated consultation, which costs £30.

During your consultation, your clinician will:

  1. Review your medical history, current medications, and any previous aesthetic treatments.

  2. Discuss what has prompted you to consider treatment and what you would like to achieve.

  3. Assess your facial anatomy, muscle movement, and skin quality.

  4. Talk through honest, realistic expectations — including what anti-wrinkle treatments cannot do.

  5. Explain the available options, the relevant risks, and the aftercare involved.

  6. Provide a written treatment plan with transparent pricing.

If you decide to proceed and it is clinically appropriate, treatment can often be carried out at the same appointment — but there is no obligation, and we would rather you took time to think it over than felt rushed.

The treatment itself

A typical anti-wrinkle appointment takes around 15 to 20 minutes. The injections use a very fine needle, and most patients describe the sensation as a brief sharp scratch rather than true pain. Anaesthetic is not usually required, though we can discuss options if you are particularly needle-averse.

You can return to most normal activities straight afterwards. We provide written aftercare advice covering the first 24 to 48 hours — including guidance on exercise, hot environments, alcohol, lying flat, and the specific facial movements we would like you to do or avoid.

When you will see results

Anti-wrinkle treatments do not work instantly. You will typically begin to notice changes around three to five days after treatment, with the full effect visible by around fourteen days. This is why we book your complimentary review at the two-week mark — it gives a proper window to assess the outcome before any adjustments.

Results typically last three to four months for first-time patients, and duration often extends for patients who treat consistently over time. Every person is different, and muscle strength, metabolism, skincare, and lifestyle all play a part.

Why clients choose Alchemy Clinic

East Kilbride has no shortage of aesthetic providers, and we do not believe clinics should compete on price for prescription medicines. What we offer instead is:

  • Medical leadership — treatments provided by experienced clinical professionals with prescribing authority.

  • On-site ultrasound — we use diagnostic ultrasound to assess anatomy and support safe injection practice, and it is particularly valuable in complications assessment.

  • Complications expertise — we are one of the few clinics in the area that actively treats complications from previous aesthetic work, including corrections for patients originally treated elsewhere.

  • A consultation-first model — no pressure, no upselling, no time-limited offers. Just clinical advice and a treatment plan that suits you.

  • Continuity of care — you see the same clinician at follow-up, and we are here if anything concerns you between appointments.

Serving East Kilbride and the wider area

Alchemy Clinic is based in East Kilbride, and although the majority of our patients come from EK itself, we regularly see clients travelling from across Lanarkshire and Greater Glasgow — including Hamilton, Rutherglen, Cambuslang, Bothwell, Uddingston, Motherwell, Bellshill, Wishaw, Newton Mearns, Giffnock, Clarkston, Busby, Thorntonhall, Eaglesham, and the south side of Glasgow more broadly. Clients also travel from Paisley, Bearsden, Bishopbriggs, Coatbridge, and further afield for our more specialist services.

Our location just outside Glasgow makes us a practical choice for patients who would prefer medically-led treatment without a city-centre clinic environment.

If something does not feel right

Anti-wrinkle treatments, delivered correctly, have a strong safety profile but no medical procedure is risk-free. Complications, asymmetry, or unexpected spread of effect are uncommon but possible, and they are occasionally seen in patients treated elsewhere.

If you have had aesthetic treatment at another clinic and something does not look or feel right, please get in touch. We offer:

  • Assessment appointments for patients with concerns about previous treatment.

  • Access to on-site ultrasound imaging where appropriate.

  • Corrective treatment where possible, or onward referral when the situation calls for it.

Further information is available on our complications management and dermal filler dissolving pages.

Frequently asked questions

Are anti-wrinkle treatments safe?

When delivered by a qualified prescribing clinician following proper medical assessment, anti-wrinkle treatments have a well-established safety profile. Side effects are usually mild and short-lived — most commonly small bruises, mild headache, or temporary tenderness. Your clinician will talk through the full list of possible risks during your consultation.

Will I look frozen?

Not at this clinic. We aim for natural softening — you should still be able to express emotion, frown when you are annoyed, and smile fully. If you would prefer a stronger or more subtle outcome, we tailor the dose accordingly.

How much does treatment cost?

Treatment pricing depends on the areas treated and the clinical assessment carried out at your consultation. Consultations start from £30, and you will receive a written treatment plan with fully transparent pricing before any decision to go ahead.

Can I have treatment if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

No. Anti-wrinkle treatments are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. We would suggest waiting and reviewing your options once that stage of life has passed.

How old do I need to be?

We treat adults aged 18 and over. In practice, most of our anti-wrinkle patients are 25 or older, though the right age to begin depends on your skin, your concerns, and your goals — which is exactly the sort of thing we will discuss at consultation.

What happens if I am not happy with the result?

We book a complimentary review two weeks after treatment. If the effect is not balanced or has not developed as expected, we can make adjustments at that point. Unlike dermal fillers, the effect of anti-wrinkle medication cannot be immediately reversed, which is why our dosing is always conservative and why the review appointment matters.

Do I need to stop anything before treatment?

We cover this in your consultation based on your medical history. Generally we ask patients to avoid alcohol for 24 hours before treatment and to let us know about any blood-thinning medications or supplements, including fish oil and high-dose vitamin E.

Book your consultation

If you are considering anti-wrinkle treatment and would prefer an honest clinical opinion to a sales pitch, we would be glad to see you. Consultations start from £30 and are carried out at our East Kilbride clinic.
